William was an extraordinary young man. He was brilliant with seemingly boundless energy. William was pursuing a double major at Texas A&M University in Mathematics and in Economics and a minor in English; taught two freshman calculus study classes; wrote weekly opinion pieces for the college newspaper; worked as a resident assistant; maintained a 4.0 GPA; and still found time for God, family, friends, fun and working out.
William was known for always having a smile on his face. He enjoyed life and saw most everything as a new challenge to be taken on. His sense of humor and wit were disarming and always livened things up.
William had many great friendships, and was always making new friends wherever he went. Among those who called him friend were many young children from church, the neighborhood, and siblings of friends. He had a unique ability to connect and interact with them; like a magnet, kids were drawn to him and he was drawn to them.
William’s richest legacy lies in the love he demonstrated for God, family and friends. He may have been brilliant, with unlimited possibilities, but as important as education, career, and success were to him, anyone who spent much time with William knew without doubt that his faith and his family were his greatest priority. He loved his family deeply, and truly valued his friends, old and new.
He was destined to be a leader and would have been a great one.
Biblioteca William Minor y Centro de Estudios is dedicated to his memory. William loved learning and seeing the world open up to him as he discovered and understood new things. He would love knowing that many young people will have an opportunity to study and learn. It is our desire that many students will use this library, and through their diligence to study and learn will have greater possibilities and opportunities in their futures.
